National Park Serra do Cipó Trekking Tour

Access is done completely on paved roads, arriving at the Tancredo Neves International Airport in Confins (75 km) or starting in the state capital Belo Horizonte (98 km). The mountains in the “Serra do Cipó” are part of the “Espinhaço - Biosphere Reserve” by UNESCO.
The Serra do Cipó National Park domiciles a fauna with several endangered species and the largest variety of species of endemic flora of the world. Altogether there are a hundred thousand hectares of beautiful rivers, waterfalls, canyons, caves and archaeological sites. The characteristical sandy rocks were formed by marine deposits over 1.7 billion years ago.
08 hours trekking through all three biome of the National Park Serra do Cipó. On the way to the waterfall, we pass small beach with great possibility for a bath. After a bath we go descending to the Gavião and Andorinhas waterfalls. Coming back through the Bocaina Valley.
Impressed by the amount of different shapes and colors, framed by the relief of sinuous curves and crystal clear water streams, the landscaper Burle Marx named this place "The Garden of Brazil".
